An Update from the Beit Ruth Village at this Time
With missile attacks and sirens sounding across Israel, most places of business and schools have closed, and residents have been urged to remain at home and off the roads, except for essential personnel. At Beit Ruth, we continue to operate 24/7, uninterrupted. Our staff are showing up - physically and emotionally - for our girls, fully committed to providing the safe, loving, and nurturing home they depend on.
In the Village, our emergency plans are fully in place with uncompromising attention to the safety and well-being of our girls and staff. The safe rooms in each of our homes and in the School — spaces our supporters helped make possible — are being used exactly as they were intended: not only as protective shelters, but as calm, steady environments where our girls feel secure, cared for, supported and accompanied when alarms sound.
Yesterday, we opened our doors to several young women from a shelter in Haifa, bringing them into the safety and protection of Beit Ruth. In moments like these, our responsibility extends beyond the Village. We are proud to be able to offer not only physical security, but warmth and community to young women who urgently need it. You make this possible too.
The continuity of care at Beit Ruth is unwavering. Beit Ruth was built to be a home of safety and resilience, a place where healing continues no matter what is happening around us - even in uncertain times.
As we prepare to celebrate Purim, the story of Queen Esther feels especially present. Purim is a story of hidden strength revealed, of courage in the face of threat, and of a young woman who found her voice at a critical moment to protect her people. That same spirit of resilience and quiet bravery lives within our girls - and within each of us. Even now, as sirens sound and uncertainty surrounds us, we are choosing light, connection, and courage over fear.
We are in regular contact with local authorities, and as of now, we plan to celebrate Purim as scheduled, creating moments of joy and normalcy in the Village. We will continue monitoring the situation closely and provide updates on further news as needed.
With heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of concern, prayers, and steadfast support, we wish one and all a happy and safe Purim.
