Welcome to Beit Ruth

Beit Ruth for Young Women & Girls At Risk is a long-term therapeutic Residence, School, and Youth Village with a mission to ensure that vulnerable and at-risk girls are given the opportunity to thrive emotionally, socially and academically, thereby breaking the cycle of violence for themselves and future generations of children in Israel.

Beit Ruth works along two simultaneous and equally important efforts to achieve our mission to end the cycle of generational violence – our direct on-the-ground educational and therapeutic programs and services that are provided in the Beit Ruth Village, and our Center of Knowledge that takes our expertise beyond the Village to grow our reach and impact toward ending the cycle of violence.

In a safe, structured and loving home environment, Beit Ruth provides the academic and therapeutic resources necessary to enable at-risk girls to re-enter society as caring, educated, independent and empowered young women. Our goal is to equip each girl with the necessary life, education, and social and emotional skills in order for them to leave the Village as healthy, happy, educated, and empowered young women.

Beit Ruth Village Core Programs

The holistic and proven Beit Ruth model for saving and rehabilitating the lives of Israel's at-risk girls is built on four fundamental and interconnected pillars:

Our intensive and individualized academic curriculum ensures our girls receive the knowledge and understanding to graduate with a high school diploma and leave as capable and well-rounded individuals.

Beit Ruth provides a nurturing and structured home environment with the individualized parental-like care necessary to give each girl the security and love needed to heal, learn, and grow, and the skills to forge a healthy and fulfilling life.

Beit Ruth's therapeutic programs are designed to empower our girls with the psychological and emotional strength needed to overcome trauma, build self-esteem, and restore strength and emotional and social capabilities.

Our enrichment programming equips each girl with the skills and resources to become healthy, engaged, and resilient, able to care for herself and others, and to be an engaged citizen of her community and of Israel.

Ronit Lev-Ari, Beit Ruth’s Director of the Center of Knowledge, Emeritus, was honored by the Michal Sela Forum that is “dedicated to saving lives and combating domestic violence through innovation and technological solutions.” The Forum was founded by Lily Ben-Ami following the murder of her sister, Michal.

Beit Ruth’s Music Teacher performs in the ‘Homeland Concert’

Ofra, one of Beit Ruth's Music Teachers, had the privilege to perform in the 'Homeland Concert' that called for the release of the remaining hostages still held in captivity. Israel's largest musical venture - more than 1,000 musicians performed with families of hostages present - was held in The Caesarea Amphitheater.

Beit Ruth Joins Protest Against UN’s Silence of Sexual Violence on October 7

As part of the 16 Days of Activism that began on International Day for the Elimination of Violence (November 25), Beit Ruth’s founder, Susan Ashner and the Beit Ruth U.S. team helped bring to light the United Nations’ refusal to condemn the sexual violence perpetrated against Israeli women on October 7. Along with hundreds of protesters outside the UN, Beit Ruth’s purpose was to continue to give voice to women who can no longer speak for themselves; condemn the deafening silence of international communities, and to shed a sliver of light on the darkness as Chanukah approached.

Columbia University Joins Tufts as Newest Beit Ruth Fellowship Program

As an incubator of ideas and a learning lab for professionals, Beit Ruth is proud to welcome Natalie Katalan as Beit Ruth’s first Columbia University-List College Fellow in Jewish Social Entrepreneurship. The Fellowship is for students who wish to enhance their skills as Jewish Social Entrepreneurs and become equipped with skills to help them tackle major social issues.
